As a student/patient, you have choices, rights, and responsibilities. We are committed to providing you the very best in health care and ask that you participate in your own health care by being an active and informed consumer.

All records are maintained in strict confidence and securely stored in the 学生健康服务 Office. No information is released without the student's permission through written consent.

SAU doesn't require proof of health insurance for domestic students and we do not provide health insurance to our students.

For uninsured or underinsured students, families should find an individual health insurance carrier that provides cover年龄 to health care providers in Iowa.

• Most students are covered until 年龄 26 under their parents' health insurance plans. Your health insurance provider will contact you in advance to remind you when your student is turning 26 and will no longer be covered under the current policy. 如果你的学生是全日制的, single student at an accredited institution of higher learning after 年龄 26, check with your carrier to determine if he/she can remain on your policy. 如果不是, your student may be eligible to enroll in the same policy with your carrier as an independent within 60 days of their birthday. 如果这个选项成本过高, parents are encour年龄d to search for other health insurance providers. There are annual periods of open enrollment with all carriers but start your search early so your student is covered under a policy.

• Certain academic programs have cover年龄 requirements for off-site learning experiences.
